Career Interests
My passion is in developing individual, team, and organizational performance systems. With a background in psychology, business administration and organizational behavior, I am interested in a partnership with organizations and academic institutions that seeks to capitalize on people development.

My passions include consulting, teaching, speaking, writing, coaching, research and the creation of new performance solutions for profit, not for profit, and academic institutions. With a bias for engineering human performance, I am focused on the applications of positive psychology technologies within multiple life arenas and age groups.

    Work Experience
  • November 2003 to Present: Director. The Center for the Advancement of Leadership. Utah Valley State College. Orem, UT. As center director, my main responsibilities include:
  1. Developing a total center concept to include several dimensions of personal and interpersonal leadership development.

  2. Developing new curriculum for the center.

  3. Teaching upper division management and leadership courses.

  4. Conducting research on topics related to personal and interpersonal effectiveness.

  5. General fund-raising and grant writing responsibilities.

  6. Organizing and managing an annual leadership conference. Attendance 4,000 +.

  7. Developing business relationships with both internal and external organizations.

  8. Advisory board development and management.

  9. Targeted speaking and training assignments.

  • February 2003 to Present: CEO. The Institute of Applied Human Excellence. Through this project I have identified a holistic model of human excellence designed as the backbone for future research, development, and design of human excellence technologies. Most recently a 13-week course “The Psychology of Personal Excellence” was designed and delivered to a local audience.
  • January 2002 to Present: Director. The C. Charles Jackson Foundation.
    Responsibilities include:
  1. Organizing the mission, vision, and values and strategy of the organization.

  2. Identifying and developing an active board of directors and advisory panel.
  3. Actively seeking charitable projects using leveraged dollars.
  4. Developing and managing matching gift campaigns.
  • August 1996 to January 2002: Sr. Consultant. InsideOut Development. American Fork, UT. Responsibilities and special projects include:
  1. Maintaining a $1.5 million book of business per year.

  2. Marketing responsibilities include or have included: public workshops management, database management, direct mail & fax-broadcasting campaigns, marketing materials development, and product positioning & pricing.
  3. Targeted facilitation, teaching and speaking engagements.
  4. Administration and systems development, i.e., strategic planning; Balanced Scorecard implementation; roles, responsibilities & accountability design.
